If a dedicated, high-end home theater for watching TV, movies, and listening to your favorite music is your dream, TechnoStructure offers two primary services to help you realize that dream. Just as with our approach to a full-blown systems integration effort for an entire house, our assistance with your dedicated home theater project is driven by your unique requirements.

Design-Build-Install (DBI) Program

Depending on your level of comfort with residential technologies and consumer electronics, TechnoStructure's DBI Program may begin with simply an education process of available technologies, and a discussion regarding some ways you may choose to determine what equipment is right for you and your dream of a home theater. This discussion typically leads directly into a discussion of requirements for your project, which we will capture and utilize as the basis for your home theater design. The design process itself may require more than one face-to-face meeting.

After a preliminary design has been completed, TechnoStructure will present you with the design specifics, including equipment and electronics TechnoStructure recommends for your home theater, together with our pricing for that equipment, its installation, and any configuration/customization/programming required to tailor the equipment to your home theater space. Upon contract acceptance, this design is yours to keep.

If your home theater project involves construction and/or remodeling work within your home, TechnoStructure will assist with the coordination of other contractors (electrical, HVAC, carpentry, interior design, lighting design, etc.) to ensure all equipment, cabling, and devices are installed to specification. If no other construction or remodeling work is required, TechnoStructure will coordinate the installation in conjunction with your schedule.

After installation is complete, TechnoStructure will test all equipment to be sure it is functioning properly, calibrate the equipment for optimal sound and picture quality, and perform any required programming to customize the equipment's behavior to your requirements. Finally, TechnoStructure will educate and train you on the proper usage of the system.

Advisory / Bid Management (ABM) Program

If you intend to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a dedicated home theater, you'd probably like to make sure you invest that money wisely and receive a fair price for the equipment you purchase, right? And you'd probably also like to make sure that the equipment you buy is of a high caliber, reliable, and will be installed by qualified and experienced people, right? Depending on your budget and on your level of comfort with home theater equipment and high-end consumer electronics, TechnoStructure's ABM Program may be just what you're looking for to guide you through the design and buildout of your dream home theater.

For a small, fixed fee, TechnoStructure will serve as your technical advisor and manage a competitive bid process to select a qualified, reputable contractor for the design, installation, and customization of your home theater. Services provided by TechnoStructure under its ABM Program include the following:

• Initial consultation to discuss your vision for your home theater project and to identify your unique home theater requirements
• Drafting your requirements in a formalized document that will form the basis for a competitive bid
• Submitting your home theater requirements, on your behalf, to at least two and no more than three pre-screened, highly qualified home theater design-installation contractors to obtain competitive proposals for your project (NOTE: To avoid express or implied conflicts of interest, TechnoStructure will not bid on your home theater project)
• Responding to questions on your behalf regarding your project and requirements from the targeted contractors
• Review and discuss with you the advantages/disadvantages and strengths/weaknesses of each proposal received in light of your specific requirements
• Identify "non-essential" or "non-critical" components of each proposal (i.e., those that do not address your requirements) for potential cost reductions
• Resolve any open questions or issues regarding the proposals; assist in narrowing the candidates down to one preferred contractor
• Provide negotiating tips and recommendations for your discussions with the preferred contractor
• Mediate the contract negotiation, if necessary

Throughout the process, you may be as involved or as little involved as you prefer. Although we believe it is important for you to be involved with the entire process from initial consultation to signing a contract with the preferred installer, TechnoStructure is capable of handling the entire bid and negotiation process on your behalf if you so desire. The primary advantages for you in using TechnoStructure's ABM Program approach for your custom home theater project are as follows:

1. You receive a low cost consultation and education on some of the key existing and emerging technologies and components available today for your home theater.
2. Formal documentation of your requirements helps ensure that they are not only communicated correctly to prospective contractors, but also that your finished project is likely to fulfill all of your requirements (i.e., there should be no surprises in the end).
3. If you are uncomfortable dealing with contractors, discussing technology, or just simply do not have the time to identify what you want, identify and interview qualified contractors to do the work, interpret and decide between multiple proposals, and negotiate for the best price, TechnoStructure can handle these tasks for you and streamline the overall process.
4. TechnoStructure provides a "buffer" between you and potential contractors; you are free to remain as hands-off as you would like throughout the bid process, and not have to deal with nagging contractors, nor those contractors that never seem to follow up
5. You receive competitive bids from pre-qualified, pre-screened contractors - all of whom have been in business for at least 10 years
6. TechnoStructure helps you assess and filter through each proposal, thereby ensuring that you don't pay for items you don't need, or for items that don't address your requirements
7. TechnoStructure will offer a recommendation for a preferred contractor, based on all proposals received and in light of your stated requirements
